With the latest Insider Preview Build, Windows 11 gains instant hotspot access via phone link

Microsoft recently announced the availability of a new feature that will provide users with instant access to their smartphone's hotspot via the Phone Link on PC. The latest Windows 11 Insider Preview Build includes the instant hotspot feature. It enables users to connect to their smartphone's Wi-Fi network securely without touching their phones. However, this feature is currently only available on a limited number of Samsung Galaxy devices. This update also includes a number of other changes, improvements, and fixes.

Microsoft released the Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 25231 on Thursday. This update is currently only available to Windows Insider Program Dev Channel members. When a user's smartphone is within range of the system, it will appear on the Wi-Fi network list automatically.

Users will be able to enable and connect to the device's hotspot with a single click from this page. It does not necessitate the user going through their smartphone's hotspot settings or entering a password. Users must, however, have previously paired their smartphone and PC.

This Windows 11 Insider preview build also includes a tablet-optimized taskbar and improvements to the System Tray that were previously only available to a select group of users. An issue that was causing Paint and Windows Terminal to crash has also been resolved.
